New Arrival: WBP Vortex 4715-430KV Motor

New Arrival: WBP Vortex 4715-430KV Motor

If you have ever built a large multirotor, you know the feeling. The frame is right, the battery is ready, the FC is tuned — and then the whole project stalls on one question: which motor can actually lift this thing and keep lifting it, flight after flight, without getting hot or running out of punch? That question is exactly why we built the WBP Vortex 4715-430KV.

The Vortex 4715 is our newest brushless motor for medium and large-sized drones. With a 430KV winding, it is designed to turn big, slow propellers — the kind that produce thrust quietly and efficiently rather than screaming at high RPM. It is the newest arrival in our line, and it is the motor we would put on our own heavy-lift build.

On our test bench, running a 15x7x3 propeller on an 8S pack, the Vortex 4715-430KV reached 7950 g of thrust at full throttle, pulling 100.46 A and drawing 3078.09 W of power.

Impressive as that is, the more useful part happens halfway up the stick. At 50% throttle the motor already delivers 2457 g of thrust. In practice, that means lifting off with a heavy payload feels calm rather than desperate, hovering stays steady, and you keep a real reserve of power for gusts, climbs, and unexpected situations. For aerial photography and survey work, that reserve is often the difference between a smooth flight and a nervous one.

A motor that runs hot loses efficiency, softens its magnets over time, and maybe eventually costs you a drone. The Vortex 4715 addresses this from the inside out: large-diameter, thick copper wire windings carry current with less loss, giving the motor a resistance of only 33.07 mΩ.

During endurance testing, the motor interior settled at 55.9°C while ambient temperature was 29.0°C. That kind of margin is what lets you fly repeated missions on a hot afternoon without watching the temperature climb. What you feel in the air is correspondingly simple: smoother power delivery, crisper throttle response, and steady behavior from takeoff to landing.

The housing is CNC-machined from high-strength aluminum alloy and finished in a new two-tone hard anodized coating. The matte black surface resists scratches and handles rain and dust, so a little weather will not end your session. Despite all that metal, the motor weighs just 270 g with the wire (230 g without the 14# 600 mm silicone lead) — a sensible balance between toughness and payload.

If you are planning a heavy-lift build, a long-endurance survey platform, or simply want a motor you can trust at the top of your throttle range, the Vortex 4715-430KV is available now.
